Rohit Sharma was not informed about the dismissal of Abhishek Nair by the report: BCCI, team management

India ODI and Testing Captain and Mumbai Indian opener Rohit Sharma recently controlled a lean patch and returned to the ongoing IPL. After some back-to-back score, Rohit finally dropped an unbeaten 76* off 45 balls from 45 balls and helped MI secure nine wickets against hardcore rivals Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhed Stadium. Since Rohit’s match-winning knock was surprised, his Instagram post for Team India’s recent ruined assistant coach Abhishek Nair attracted everyone’s attention.
Nair, who had been associated with the Indian cricket team as an assistant coach for the last eight months, was dismissed by the BCCI last week. Team India’s poor performance in the Seema Gavaskar Trophy is being seen as a reason behind Nair’s dismissal.
After winning against CSK, Rohit took on Instagram and shared a picture on his story, as well as a caption in which read, “Thank you, Abhishek Nair!”
According to a report by Dainik Jagran, Rohit was not taken into confidence before BCCI dismissed Nair, although he was consulted while appointing Nair. The report claimed that Rohit’s post clearly shows that all the members of the Indian team management are not on the same page when Nair is dismissed.
The report said, “Abhishek was admitted to the assistant employees of the Indian team with the consent of Rohit, but Rohit was not consulted before Rohit was removed.”
The report also said that after India’s 1-3 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a review meeting was held. However, action against the coaching staff was not taken at that time as the Champions Trophy was around the corner. As the Indian team is currently not playing any international cricket due to the IPL, the BCCI took action last week.
During the meeting, a member of the team management raised a complaint about the dressing room chat which was leaking to the media.
Along with Nair, fielding coach T Dileep and trainer Soham Desai were also shown the door, but the latter two were removed as their term ended. The report of awareness further states that a member of the Indian team management has questioned Nair’s credibility.
The report said, “A member of the team management asked,” If Nair was so reliable, the management added Satanshu Kotak as a batting coach for the England series in January? Even Rohit agreed to bring Kotak on board, “the report said.
Satanshu Kotak was appointed as India’s batting coach during the White-Ball series against England in January.
He even questioned as an assistant coach of KKR for Nair’s job, saying that the Kolkata -based franchise had won the title only under Gautam Gambhir.
In particular, Nair worked with KKR from 2019 to 2024 and re -included the defending champion as an assistant coach after his dismissal by BCCI.
