Rishabh Pant emerges Hero (9.5/10), Mohammad Siraj (?/10) Large failure

Team India, despite batting well in the patch, was completely excluded by England in the 371-Run Chase in the first Test.
It was shown by the Indian team in Leeds only in the first Test against England, that he lost by five wickets on Monday. One can argue that there was no support from the pitch, but then the team collectively failed. The Insidesport takes a look at the report card of the Indian players for the match.
Rishabh Pant leads the batting charge
Yashasvi Jaiswal (7/10): Jaiswal is entitled to a lot of credit. Even though he failed in the second innings, but in the first, he scored 101 runs despite several hiccups. He showed the path of other Indian batsmen that they too could score some runs in England. For this inexperienced side, it was invaluable. He also set a tone for 471. It is necessary to say, he is the most consistent batsman of India since he has made his debut.
KL Rahul (9/10): Rahul is one of the most senior members of the team following the departure of R Ashwin, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. And he has done great as a part of the leadership group, and most importantly, as the second opener on the side. He was very patient for his 42 in the first innings, but was inauspicious to miss a big score in the first innings. But he was ready for the other, and 137.
Sai Sudharsan (3/10): To make a long way for this debut, but it seemed, he was not ready for the challenge. The upcoming ball bothers him, but the time may be right. After a duck in the first innings, he scored 30 runs in the second. One seems to be dropped by another test.
India dirty for centuries against England
Shubman Gill (7/10): Captain’s record in army countries is a major cause of concern, but he gave a strong reply to all suspects. In the first innings, he came with an innocent 147. The second innings was a miss as he could manage only 8. But still the problem is its captaincy. He took some very general decisions on the park. Shardul Thakur’s low section was one.
Rishabh Pant (9.5/10): Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. This is the only way to describe what Rishabh Pant achieved. He is only the first Indian keeper to score a back-to-back tonne in a single test, after the Andy Flower of Zimbabwe. He was just innocent. Yes, Luck also played his share, but all credit should go to pants alone.
Karun Nair (2.5/10): The first innings came out for 0 for 0, and then 20 in the second. But it seems, he is a solid batsman and there is a lot on this tour. Despite this bad attempt, he may continue for the next few matches.
Bowling unit collectively fails
Ravindra Jadeja (1.5/10): All scored 36 runs and returned with 1 wicket. He looked decent with the ball in the first innings, but did not look like taking a wicket in the other. He should have bowled better in view of his huge experience.
Shardul Thakur (2.5/10): Failing while batting, and did not get enough over to bowl. But if the truth is told, whatever he got .. he was not very good. Yes, he took two back-to-back wickets, but it was a very rare, very late case.
Mohammad Siraj (0.5/10): This is a surprising case. Mohammad Siraj is in second place of Bumrah, but he has not done justice to that tag. 2/122 is only poor in the second innings in the first innings in the first innings and 51 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah (6/10): He picked up a feeler in the first innings and became a wicket -free in the second. It is not his fault. He tried his best, and bowled many overs. He did everything in his powers to give for the country. His support bowlers were poor.
Prasad Krishna (4/10): He bowled well in the patch, got five wickets in the match, but for the economy of 6 in the innings, it is just criminal. They have shown some capacity, but have to work on their tendency to give loose delivery.
