Ricky Ponting shows how Yuzvendra Chahal hurt the match winning spell to bowl

Ricky Ponting protected Yuzvendra Chahal’s epic mantra as Punjab Kings to protect the least clan in IPL history.

Five matches, 2 wickets and 11.13 economy rates, Yuzvendra Chahal was also not close to his best. He looked out of touch, rhythm and depth. But Punjab Kings supported it. If Ricky Ponting did not support him for PBKS vs. KKR match, he would have been in the losing side as it was Chahal’s magic mantra that helped him to defend the lowest clan in IPL history. Ponting revealed that Chahal was hurt and passed only one fitness test before the match.

,What a good magic of bowling! He was actually a fitness test before the game. Today he picked up his shoulder injury in the last game and I drove him out of the warm-up and looked at him in the eye and said, ‘Met and you OK?’ He said, ‘Coach, I am 100 percent right, let me go out of there,’ Ricky Ponting said after epic protection in Mulanpur.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s magic magic

After leaving for 1/56 in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Yuzvendra Chahal was confident. The Rs 18 crore spinner did a terrible outing in IPL 2025. With just 111 runs on the board, Punjab Kings did not even give him a chance to capitalize on himself. But Chahal broke the match on his head.

Chahal came to bowl in the 8th over, with Kolkata Knight Riders winning 97.81%. In the fourth ball of the over, he trapped Ajinkya Rahane LBW. While Replay showed that Rahane was not out, but the KKR captain opted not to review, the wicket stopped and this is the place where it all went down.

He returned to the 10th over, batting at 37, which was getting from the surface, it was difficult for Chahal to play. Despite taking two wickets, KKR was still with just 40 runs to win the game. Venkatesh Iyer LBW in the middle of Maxwell.

As soon as Yuzvendra Chahal returned to the 12th over, he put a lease on KKR with two wickets. First, he rejected Rinku Singh, who was trying to defeat his turn and came under the tracks, only to be stumped. In the next delivery, he removed Ramandeep Singh for a golden duck because he was trapped in slips by Shreyas Iyer. KKR went down to 76/7.

“Heart rate is still there. I am now 50 years old and do not require more sports like these. Defending 112, our sleeve increases with 16 runs. Ponting said.

‘I ever won the best’

While Andre Russell kept the ASHAs alive with 11-gent 17, Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh returned KKR empty handed. Punjab Kings won the match in 15.1 overs, as KKR turned to 95. If Ponting says that this was the best win, someone has to believe. Ponting won a lot in his international career as a player and as Capane.

“Even if we had lost that game, I could not be proud of the way we went about the second half. Such a victory is always the most cute, and if you can close it, you should win as well as most people are involved in it, and I can have a lot of games in the IPL, and it may probably be the best victory, and it may have been the best victory, and it may be about the best victory,” Ponting said after the match.
