Punjab Kings (PBK) head coach Ricky Ponting addressed Australian all -rounder Glenn Maxwell and addressed an injury to the team after being taken out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a finger injury. Maxwell broke his finger during training, making him the second PBKS player after a season-ending injury at the beginning of the tournament even after New Zealand’s Pacer Lucky Ferguson. On Wednesday, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer revealed that he has not yet decided on the replacement of Ferguson and Maxwell.

“To be honest, we have not yet decided about replacement, but we are very strong in the mindset of our team and what we have outside our play.

However, after the match against CSK, Ponting confirmed that “we would sign some replacement in some stages”.

However, Ponting blamed the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) for lack of quality options, as far as replacement is concerned.

“So we are really a little patient. Maxi’s only a few days have been there, it’s two or three weeks. And PSL is happening at the same time, there are not much high quality replacement, not to be honest. So we are capable of filling Indian talents only. Tomorrow we will come with us and they will come forward with us, we can move forward with them and they will move on with them.
