Report: Suu Bard to become the Managing Director of USWNT

Athletic reported on Tuesday that USA Basketball has named its managing director of the women’s national team for the 2028 Olympic cycle.
Bird, 44, were members of five Olympic gold medal winning teams and four FIBA World Cup Champions during their stored career, which ended in 2022. Now the team will play an integral role in preparing the USA for the 2028 Summer Olympics at Bird Los Angeles.
As the Managing Director, according to the athletic, the role of the bird will suit the Grant Hill in favor of the men. He will hold responsibility to select roster and coaching staff for both Olympic and World Cup, a departure from the tradition of using a selection committee.
Hill made the Hall of Fame Executive Jerry Colngello successful in 2021. Bird, like hill, comes with uncontrolled credentials as college, professional and winners at international levels.
Birds will work with Briyana Weiss, who is the director of the USA women’s national team since 2021.
After the narrow migration of the country in the 2024 gold medal game against France, and the contemporary of the bird, with the retirement of Diana Raksi, the program is potentially in a transitional period. Ketleen Clarke, Angel Reese and 2025 WNBA No. 1 draft picge beukers could lead a young movement for roster spots for the 2028 Olympics, and when Clarke was not selected for the 2024 team, there was a minor dispute.
Prior to the Olympics, 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup is scheduled for September 2026 in Germany.
USA Basketball has an announcement for Thursday in New York.
