Report: Sun narrow coaching search 2 cav assistants

Phoenix Sun has taken its list of potential head coaches to two, both currently on Cleveland Cavaliers’ employees, ESPN said on Monday.

The finalists, per ESPN, Cleveland Associate Head Coach Johnny Bryant and Assistant Jordan Oat are. Both are ready to meet with a Phoenix contingent led by owner Matt Ishbia this week.

Sons Mike is looking for a replacement for Budenholzer, which was fired after a record of April 14 and 36–46 after its first season. The new coach will be the fourth in four sessions.

NBA coach of the year Kenny Etkinson and his employees led cavaliers to 64 wins and the number 1 seed in the playoffs of the Eastern Conference, where they lost to Indiana pacers in the second round.

The 39 -year -old Bryant was a guard at the college in Utah and was professionally played abroad before joining the Utah Jazz Staff in 2012, where he remained until 2020. He was the Associate Head Coach of New York Nix before joining cavaliers.

Oat launched his career as a video coordinator in Michigan State in 2008 before filling the same role under Budenholzer with Atlanta Hawks. He joined the nets as an assistant coach in 2016 and moved to Los Angeles in 2022, before Atkinson hired him in Cleveland.
