The San Antonio Spider Center Victor Vambanyama has recovered from the issue of blood clots, which ended its 2024–25 season ahead of time, the French newspaper L’Equipe said on Monday.
“I have officially approved to return,” Vambanyama told the publication. “It happened now – I got a green light from the medical staff of the spurs. … I will finally be able to play a little bit of basketball again.”
Vambanyama underwent surgery in March after detecting deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.
ESPN reported in May that Vambanyama was expected to return to court from the beginning of the training camp and time for a regular session.

The spurs first selected Vambanyama in the 2023 NBA draft. In parts of two sessions, it is average in 22.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assistance, 1.2 stolen and 3.7 blocked shots 117 games (all start). He has also made 270 3-pointers.
