Report: RB Nick Chubb expected to sign with Texas

Nick Chub’s seven -year tenure with Cleveland Brows appears to be over as the four -time Pro Bowl selection is expected to sign with Houston Texas with Monday’s physical physical, stated by several media outlets on Sunday.

According to an ESPN report, Chub’s deal will be for the 2025 season.

29-year-old Chub, NFL’s top running back from 2019–22, was one of the Knee and foot injuries limited it to 10 games in the last two seasons. In 2024, he played in eight matches and reached 332 yards and three scores.

If he joins Texas, Chub fellow Star who will join a backfield led by Mixon, who will come out of his second Pro Bowl campaign and his fifth 1,000-yard season.

Mixon, 28, posted 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground with 36 graves for 309 yards and a score in 2024, but very little helped. Chub and Mixon’s pairing will promote Texas with a combined pair, provided that Chub is on the field.

Along with Mixon, Texas has Demon Pierce, Dare Ogunbole and fourth round pick Woody Marx in their running back room from Southern California.

If Chub stayed in Cleveland, the time to play would have been an issue. The browns have Geom Ford and the Ohio State has been selected who is running Quinshon Judkins back in the second round of this year’s draft before adding Tennessy Rashar Dympson to the fourth.

In the 2018 draft, a second-round pick out of Georgia, Chub posted four 1,000-yard rushing season and carried 1,340 for 6,843 yards (5.1 yards per carry) for 51 touchdowns, along with 1,042 yards and 128 receptions for five scores.

Chub is third in the history of the brown franchise, with 6,843 Rushing Yard Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly behind the members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
