Steve Angeli, who was part of the quarterback competition of Notre Dame in this spring, is entering the transfer portal, several outlets said on Thursday.
Angeli was against CJ Carr and Kenny Minache in a three-way fight in this spring.
Last year, as Riley Leonard’s backup, Angeli entered 11 matches and completed 24 out of 36 passes for 268 yards, three touchdowns and zero interception.
The former four-star probability out of the New Jersey has completed 772 yards, 10 touchdowns and for a interception, completing 72.5 percent of his career (58 out of 80) for his career.
Angeli is ready to become a junior this season, while Carr is a redshirt freshman (and the grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd car) and Minache is a sophomore.
Fighting Irish is coming out of a national championship game loss for Ohio State, and Leonard was out of eligibility after his alone season in South Bend.
