Laus Angeles Labs superstar Lebron James put up a grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee during Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference against Minnesota Timberwells, ESPN said on Friday.
Timberwells ended the series in the game on Wednesday, courtesy of the 103-96 victory. If Laks had ended in that competition, the possibility of injury would have kept James away from the court for three to five weeks.
James was injured after Minnesota’s guard Donate Divineszo hit the east knee, while the fourth quarter was established a moving screen with 8:39 remaining. James immediately quit the game and examined his knee before returning to the competition with 7:23 to play.
James, 40, got 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assistance in 70 games in 2024-25 to rank top 22 in each category.
His contract includes an option of $ 52.6 million player for the next season and ESPN reported on Thursday that Laks expected him to play “at least one more NBA season”. It will be eighth with Laks.
The 21-time all-star, four-time league MVP and four-time NBA Champion, are all-time leading scorers of James League with 42,184 points.
