Report: Former player Rick to appoint Rick Tochthe as coach

Philadelphia’s flyers Rick Totate is shut down as his next head coach, several media outlets reported on Wednesday.

The 61 -year -old Toket spent parts of the 11 season with flyers during his game career.

Now, he is expected to re -incorporate the franchise to effectively replace John Tortorella, which was fired with the team in March, carrying his fifth straight straight season without a playoff berth.

Brad Shaw took over as an interim coach of flyers, who tied the final place at the Eastern Conference with a 339–10 record (76 points).

Tox participated in a manner with the Vancouver Canx after the end of its three-year contract deadline at the conclusion of the 2024–25 season.

He was removed only one season from earning the Jack Adams Award as NHL’s Coach of the Year, when Vancouver won the Pacific Division and later lost to Edmonton Oilrs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinal.

Canx failed to make playoffs this season, 38–30–14 (90 points) and six points from St. Louis Blues for the second wild card berth.

The tocchet had the previous head-cooking stents with Tampa Bay Lightning (2008–10) and Arizona Koyots (2017-21). He replaced Bruce Baudreu behind Canx’s bench in January 2023.

He has a career of 286-265-87 NHL coaching records and 11–11 in Postsen in a regular session. He was in Vancouver in 108-65-27, Plus 7-6 playoffs.
