Reliever for Braves Assignment NETES Craig Kimel

Atlanta Braves on Saturday nominated a nine-star Reliler Craig Kimell for assignment.
37-year-old Kimel started his season on Friday night and allowed a hit in the seventh innings in Atlanta’s 5–4, 10-inning defeat in San Francisco. One foot and a strikeout was done in the right hand and threw 14 pitches.
Kimel, who started his career in Atlanta in 2010, was called from Triple-e Ginnet before Friday’s game against veterans. He signed a minor league deal with Braves in March.
Kimell led the National League in four straight sessions with Braves from 2011-14.
He is in fifth place with 440 savings and is 2.59 ERA in 838 career games (no start) in 16 sessions with eight teams.
Atlanta recalled 28-year-old left-arm Austin Cox from Triple-e Ginnet in a similar transaction. He last picked in Major in 2023 with Canasus City Royals.
