Relief for Yash Dayal, Allahabad HC arrest for allegations of sexual abuse

There will be further hearing in the case, but for now, Yash Dayal will not be arrested.
The Allahabad High Court (HC) has ordered a stay on Yash Dayal’s arrest after allegations were put against him for sexually exploiting a woman. An FIR was filed against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler on July 6 regarding the matter.
The FIR had mentioned that Dayal was in a relationship for 5 years with the said woman and had physical relationships with her on the pretext of marriage. She had stated that Dayal had even introduced her to his family as their future daughter-in-law.
“For the past five years, the complainant had been in a relationship with a cricketer. The man emotionally, mentally and physically exploited her by misleading her with the promise of marriage. He introduced the complainant to his family and behaved like a husband, which made her trust him completely. When the complainant realized the deception and protested, she was subjected to physical violence and mental harassment,” read the FIR statement.
However, for the time being the court has put a stay on his arrest. A bench comprising Justice Siddhartha Varma and Justice Anil Kumar have given Dayal relief until his next hearing.
“You could have been fooled for 1 day, 2 day 3 day…but 5 years…you are entering into a relationship for 5 years…one can’t be fooled for 5 years,” the bench orally observed during the proceedings.
