The 27-year-old Aashtraft was in the 15-day injured list with a correct waist tension and was not picked from 15 June. The right hand hand is 5-4 with 4.19 ERA in 29 Relief show this season.
In the same transaction, Reds selected Infielder/Outfielder Ryan Vilade and right-hand Sam BensCotter in Triple-e Louisville.
