The Khelo India Youth Games (Kiyg) hosted in Bihar is making a significant progress by incorporating ESports on 2025, May 6 and May 7. It marks a significant moment for competitive gaming in India, elevating it on a major national stage. The inclusion of asports in Kiag underlines the government’s commitment to identify and promote various sports talents across the country.

Kiyg 2025: ESPORTS Consideration

The debut will appear at the Palliputra Sports Complex in Patna, in which both days are running from 11 am to 6 pm. Enthusiastic and aspirational gamers can participate in the program without tickets, fearing a lively atmosphere with the expected crowd of more than 3000 attendees.

Many popular ESPORTS titles will be depicted, including BGMI, Street Fighter 6, Chess, Efootball Mobile and Efootball console. These games are already part of the Olympic Asports Series, focusing on India’s focus on training their top asports athletes for possible inclusion at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. Looking further, sports like tennis clash have also been added to the Kiag Asports Roster.

Connecting enthusiasm, the event will host the major data from the Indian gaming community, such as mortal, sc0ut, destro, saumraj, ankiibot, spero, fYXS, Darshita, Vaadhiyar, and Tomboy. Their presence is expected to attract significant attention and inspire young asports enthusiasts.

In a unique step, the official freight for the Kiag asports teams will not provide any sponsor logo or branding. Instead, the players will proudly represent their respective states, highlight regional talent and promote state pride in the competition. This year is the first time that more than seven states will field dedicated asports teams in various game titles, with the top two teams and open qualifiers with single artists from each state.

The initiative is based on Bihar’s leading efforts in hosting the Open Asports Championships in 2023 and 2024. After Bihar leadership, other states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh have organized their own Asports Open Championships in 2025.

Beyond Kiag, the National Asports Championship is scheduled in early June. The purpose of this championship is to show India’s elite asports athletes, which have the ability to compete at the highest international levels including the Olympics. Diptanshu of UNIV ESPORTS exposed the government’s structured approach to ESPORTS, now recognized as a priority game under the Sports Ministry, which is different from the real money gaming that comes under Meity. He also referred to the possibility of states like Nagaland, Delhi and Haryana, which joined the Asports movement with an eye on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The inclusion of ESPORTS in Khelo INT Games 2025 represents a monumental step towards the recognition and development of the mainstream of Ecosystem in India, which paves the way for future development and potential Olympic participation.
