Real Salt Lake Black DC United to And Winless Streak

Johnny Russell and Zewier Gozo won the Real Salt Lake 2–0 to visit DC United on Saturday at Sandy, Utah.

The result ended the Vinless Streak of the seven-match (0-4-3) of Salt Lake. While the victory was paramount, it was only the sixth time that low scoring RSL (5-10-3, 18 points) scored several goals in a match this season.

The aggressive aggressive Saturday came without scorer Diego Luna, which was on international duty with the United States in the Gold Cup.

Goalkeeper Rafael Cabral had just one left for his fourth shutout of the season.

Gozo took a long downfield pass and increased the RSL lead and then finished clinically in the 77th minute. The Lakshya was initially ruled by offside, but a video review revealed that Gojo had barely set his foot on Midfield when DC United separated from David Shaneg.

Ariath Piol added an insurance target for Salt Lake in the 87th minute. In a reversal of Gozo’s position, Poul’s target was erased after a video review, which was revealed the position of an offset in the lead-up for the play.
