Scotty Sheffreers are not in the Toronto region this week.

Their absence is important – this increases the obstacles of every player of the ground in the RBC Canadian Open.

The two -time event winner Rory McLaroy is a favorite. His victory in the incident came in 2019 and 2022.

It will also be given general attention to whether you can win 24 Canadian tournaments in the field. When Nick Taylor won his heavy victory in 2023, it first marked that a Canadian had won the event since Pat Fletcher in 1954. Last year, Taylor also did not cut.

As always, you do not need to have a big name to elevate the leaderboard in a golf tournament. Even a player can have an impact in his first Pro event.

Rory’s show? Or setup for despair?

Mcilroy (+450) is a clear favorite this week, but he finished 47th in his most recent tournament – PGA Championship – and did not play for the last two weeks. Perhaps there is a mental break as to what she needs to re -find that form that helped him win the Pebble Beach, players and Masters in this season.

Ludvig åberg (+1400) is struggling with continuity issues, but you never know when he will score a run. He won the origin invitation, but also missed three cuts and withdrew from another tournament.

This season of Shane Lori (+2200) has four top-10 results-which includes a second and a tie for the other-so he can definitely make a run for the crown.

Sungjae IM (+3500) did not shoot less than 71 in the Memorial Tournament last week, but in that masters signal, the tie for the fifth could be in the mixture.

Defending champion Robert McIntire (+2800) has done three top -10 finish this season and has figures for threatening for the other.

Best Bet: Shane Lori to win tournament (+2200, drafting)

Oh, Canada … luxurious and independent

Canadian golf fans will talk forever on the fourth playoff hole about Taylor’s epic 72-foot eagle put. And they – golfers do not get to win a tournament in that wild in a way.

Things cool that Taylor and fellow Canadian Taylor Pendrith and McKenzie Hughes will make a trio and play the first 36 holes together. Gallery could be the largest sports meeting in the Toronto region as the raptors won the 2019 NBA title.

The difficult part has to be chosen to cheer the most.

Taylor (+4500) finished fourth in the Memorial and won Sony Open in Hawaii in January, while Hughes (+4500) finished 39th in the weekend, but missed three of the last five cuts.

Clatton puts in a show in his professional debut

Luke Clanton (+4000) has displayed a ton promise as an amateur and college star in Florida State, but the incident will mark its first as a professional.

Now the 21-year-old gets to keep money-although he said that this week it is about the competition, not about fame or salary.

In 2024, Clanton booked three top-five finish, so there is no reason that he cannot get out on a large scale this week. His best finish in 2025 is a tie for the 15th in the highly respected Tore Pines.

As for your college season? He won the Ben Hogan Award as the country’s top collegium.

If you are looking for an experience, Justin Rose (+2000; +500 for the top 10) may be a good purchase. He finished three top -10 finishes this season and turned into an epic final round in Masters, when he lost to McLero in a playoffs.
