A signed 1986-87 Flair Michael Jordan Ruki Card sold on a record of $ 2.5 million at the auction on Thursday.
And kicker? There was only one bidder.
According to the Sports Collectables Media Platform CLLCT, this is the highest price for the Jordan fraud card. Win – and only – $ 2 million bid was placed on the auction house jopitter, which charges 25 percent of the buyer’s premium to bring the total value to $ 2.5 million.
“This is a shocking amount,” CLLCT Reporter and Editor Will Stern told the front office sports. “I don’t think there is any person I spoke within the industry that expected it.”
The FOS cited another memorable evaluator stating that the “fair market price” of the card is about 1 million dollars. The PSA certified card has been rated as 9 out of 10 for the overall position, while Jordan’s autograph is rated at 10.
While the record price from a only bidder, named unknown, has raised questions within the trading card industry, Jopitter told FOS that in sales “had strong activity from potential buyers in 50 countries.”
The card is also part of the 10 Flair Card which was secretly signed by Jordan for a collector in Florida last year. The CLLCT reported that Jordan usually does not sign the Fler Card as it has a deal with the upper deck, but that the collector had paid Jordan to fly to Florida, so the signature can be seen by the PSA.
Sources told the CLLCT that at least six of the 10 cards before the signature were priced at $ 180,000, while the PSA 9S had a price of about $ 16,000 before the autograph. 10s have not yet come for public sales.
Jopitter was founded in 2022 by singer and music producer Fareel Williams.
The most money paid for the Jordan card to date was $ 2.928 million in June 2024 for the 1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Autographed Logoman card.
