Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid completely reported any rift between franchise and captain Sanju Samson. In a press conference before the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants, Dravid called all the reports “baseless” and said that the team should be united in search of the playoffs. The controversy began with a video clip in which Sanju Samson was not participating in a team Handle, where Dravid was seen in the discussion with assistant employees and some players. This threatened a possible crack and even Sanju’s RR captaincy.
“I don’t know where these reports are coming from. Sanju and I are on the same page,” said Dravid.
“He is a very integral part of our team. He is involved in every decision and discussion. Sometimes, when you lose the game and things are not right, you can face criticism and we can take it on our performance, but we can’t do anything about this baseless goods. The team’s feelings are really good, I don’t understand that not a thing.
Samson’s participation is in doubt against Lucknow super veterans on Saturday as the franchise waited for the results of the injury to its side.
Samson on Wednesday hurt after scoring 31 balls off 19 balls due to the stress of suspected side during RR’s recent match against Delhi Capital.
The RR skipper appeared in inconvenience after attempting the cut shot from Vipraj Nigam, inspiring Physio to examine the left side of its ribbacks. Although he faced the next delivery, Samson soon moved out of the field. The match ended in a tie, RR eventually lost in the super over.
“Sanju experienced a little pain in the stomach area. So we have gone for a scan. He has done some scans today, so we are waiting for the results of those scans. And then once we get a little more clarity around the scan and (severity of injury), we will move forward and we will see what happens,” Head-cook Rahul Drew said at a press-minded press conference on Friday.
