Punjab leaves Phil salt in a hurry as kings

RCB opener Phil Salt scored 16 runs in 9 delivery, on the night of IPL 2025 final against PBK.
If there was one man who was going to be even more dangerous than Virat Kohli, for PBKS in the IPL 2025 final, it was RCB opener Phil Salt. The dasher doesn’t have over 600 runs in the season like the Indian legend, but possessed a strike-rate of 174. On Tuesday too, the Englishman started explosively, hitting Arshdeep Singh for 12 runs in the first over of the clash.. but his joy was only short-lived.
Phil Salt Departs Early in IPL 2025 Final
Going for an expansive shot in Kyle Jamieson’s over, Salt mistimed one and gave away a simple catch to skipper Shreyas Iyer. The latter, who didn’t show much emotion after his side cruised into the summit clash, exulted in joy, once the catch was completed. That just showed the importance of that wicket for PBKS.
Big Wicket for PBKS
In all, in 13 matches, Salt went on to score 399 run at an average of 36.27. What was the highlight of the tournament is, he went on to score four fifties in the season, and gave a solid start to the team on most occasions along with Virat Kohli. His commitment to the team was also a 100%. After their Qualifier 1, he went back home for the birth of his child, was returned in time to play the IPL final.
As far as the team combination is concerned, RCB went with one forced change for the final. With Tim David injured, the management decided to go with Liam Livingstone, who is a dasher like David, and can bowl a few overs too.
