Prithvi Shaw, who was unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, announced his comeback in the style with a bang in the T20 Mumbai League 2025.
Out-of-favour batter Prithvi Shaw stormed back to form with a scintillating half-century for North Mumbai Panthers in T20 Mumbai League 2025 on Sunday. The opener, who went unsold in the IPL auction and was snubbed from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy team, scored 75 runs off just 34 deliveries. Panthers, who’s captain is Shaw, are at the bottom of the points table and have been eliminated from the tournament.
Shaw slams sublime fifty
Shaw’s knock was studded with 12 fours and 3 sixes, and the batter boasted of a strike rate of 220.59. The highlight of his knock was the six boundaries of a single over in the game against Triumph Knights. The incident occurred in the fifth over of the match where Prithvi took Minad Manjrekar to the cleaners, slamming six boundaries in six deliveries.
Shaw was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, he found no takers. The batter had a rather miserable domestic season, to add fuel to the fire. From disciplinary issues to fitness concerns, Prithvi was boggled by multiple issues.
Shaw will hope that his knock in T20 Mumbai League 2025 will mark the start of his redemption arc.
