Prithvi was once seen as a major talent for Indian cricket, but in recent times, lack of form and fitness issues has changed his career seriously.
He was removed from Mumbai due to fitness concerns and his last appearance was in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024, where he once again disappointed with the bat.
Punjab Kings (PBK) star Shashank Singh, who played with Shaw for Mumbai, explained in detail what could be wrong for him.
Shashank nominated Prithvi Shaw, listening to the players, which he felt that he could be a great opener for India in future. As a result, Shaw was nominated with the choice of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Here when Shashank was asked about Shaw’s struggles.
“Prithvi Shaw has been reduced. If he goes back to his basics, he can achieve anything. I know him since he was 13 years old, because I have played club cricket with him in Bombay. If you ask me what is wrong with him, he has a different perspective on some things,” Shashank said on the mascot Mishra Podcast.
“Maybe, he can change something about the morality of his work, maybe sleep at 10 o’clock at night, maybe improve your diet,” Shashank said.
“If he can accept and change some of these things, it would be the best thing for Indian cricket,” Shashank said.
