Prithvi Shaw revealed what Sachin Tendulkar asked for him to do

Prithvi Shaw revealed that he had sought some advice from mentor Sachin Tendulkar and was asked to go back to the right path.
Out of favour batter Prithvi Shaw revealed that he was advised by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar to “get back on the right track”. The Mumbai opener has been embroiled in controversies since last year and his form has been downhill, leading him to being dropped from the side. Shaw will now move from Mumbai to Maharashtra ahead of the next domestic season and has sought a NOC from MCA for the same.
Tendulkar’s advise for Shaw
In an interview to News24, Shaw revealed that Tendulkar was well aware of his journey and pointed out that he was friends with Arjun Tendulkar since childhood. He said that he had had a conversation with Sachin a couple of months ago when he was practicing at MIG. Referring to Sachin as his mentor, he said that such a figure was needed when one drifted away.
“Sachin sir knows about my journey. Arjun and I have been friends since we were 8-9 years old. We’ve played together, grown up together. Sir was also there sometimes. I had a word with him a little while ago too. Hardly 2 month ago. He was practicing at the MIG. And I was there too. I spoke to him then too. When things go awry and you drift away, you need that mentor, who can light a spark into you,” Shaw said.
Further, Prithvi said that Sachin had told him to get back on the right track, adding that he has and will continue to believe in Shaw.
“He still believes in me. He said ‘Prithvi, I still believe in you, and I’ll continue to do so’. Because he has seen me grow up. Even today, he tells me ‘Sahi track pe aa ja, jaise pehle tha’ (Come back on the same track as earlier). Everything is possible in the next 13-14 years. So he believes in me and that means a lot,” he added.
