Major League Baseball suspended Pittsburgh Pirates Pitcher Dennis Santana on Friday for “four-wheelers for a fan”, which saw him a swing on someone, hearing him from behind the Bulpen.

The suspension of Santana was scheduled to begin on Friday, but the pitcher has chosen to appeal for discipline.

Santana’s run-in with the fan took place on Thursday during the second game of a doublehead in Detroit Tigers. A tigers spokesperson confirmed the news outlets that the fan was dropped from the park.

The video of the incident posted to social media revealed that Santana left her legs and took a swing on the fan that was standing on the railing. The Pirates fled to guide Santana away from the coach stand.

Speaking through an interpreter after the game, Santana explained that the fan “crossed the line several times” but did not justify his actions. He refused to say what the fan did or said to him.

“You guys know me and know my nature,” said Santana. “I am a calm person. He just crossed the line a few times. I would like to leave it like this.”

Santana later entered the game and faced a batsman before the rain delay.

The 29 -year -old Santana is in his first full season with Pittsburgh, when Pirates paid him a discount from New York Yankis in June 2024. In parts of eight MLB season for five clubs, Santana saves nine with 13–16 and is 4.38 ERA in 237 performances (a beginning).
