Pirates Great and Hall of Fame Dave Parker died in 74

Pittsburgh Pirates veteran Dave Parker died at the age of 74, when he was set up a month before joining the baseball hall of fame after he was elected by the Classic ERA Committee, the Pirates announced on Saturday.

He was struggling with Parkinson’s disease.

Parker starred for Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1970s, winning the 1978-78 National League MVP Award and Back-to-Back NL Batting title. In 1979, when the Pirates won the world series, the seven-time all-star hit 25 home runs and 94 with RBI.

The Pirates (1973-83), Cincinnati Reds (1984-87), Okland Athletics (1988-89), Millwauki Breves (1990), California Angels (1991) and Toronto Blue Jas (1991), 339 home run with Parker Hit and 19-CEing with 1,493. The right fielder had a strong throwing hand and was a three -time gold glove winner and a silver slogger three times.

Parker was part of the inaugural Pirates Hall of Fame Class in 2022 and was scheduled to join the Hall of Fame on 27 July, when, heartbreaking, the worker said, “Was waiting for a long time. So it was exciting. … I am eager to be there. I have been catching this speech for 15 years.”

Next to the induction ceremony, Parker reflected on playing in a different era.

“70s were hard,” Parker said. “You had to become a cat for a player to play in the 70s. I enjoyed it. I loved the competition very much. I just enjoyed playing.”
