Phillies’ Ranger Suarez looks for another strong outing vs Reds

Cincinnati Reds is known for its flexibility.
Fresh from an impressive aggressive performance, Reds hoped a similar performance on Saturday when they continue their road series against Philadelphia Philos.
Philadelphia started 3–0 in Matini on Friday, before Cincinnati scored in four consecutive innings-exposed the third-en route of five runs to win a 9–6 victory.
“I think they now know that if we keep playing, we have got a chance,” Reds Manager Terry Frankona said after four defeats in six matches after his team’s second direct victory. “When you have found something to show for it, it really helps.”
The Spencer Steer, who was sitting outside in Boston on Wednesday night, led the charge of Reds on Friday with two hits, two walks, two RBI and two runs after hitting a pitch on his hand during the completion of a suspended game.
“It is possible to play you in every way,” Stear said. “(My hand) was good to go.”
For Phillies, they lost despite ranking of 14 hits. He had a chance to bow the scoreboard in his side in the eighth innings, but Alex Bohm hit with the loaded bases.
Philadelphia Starter Jesus Lujardo allowed six runs (five earned) in the two-plus innings as the hosts took an early lead and never fully recovered.
“I still have all the confidence in the world in Luzardo,” said Rob Thomson, the manager of the Philos,. “He is leaving – everyone is going to be – here and there bad outing. I think we are still fine.”
Of course, Thomson has a luxury of a rotation with many excellent pitches. One of those talented hurler will begin on Saturday as the Red-Hot Ranger takes Suarez (7-2, 2.00 ERA) the mound.
The left -handed batsman has allowed only six earned runs in his last eight beginnings, good for 0.99 ERA on that stretch. He gave a run in seven innings against Atlanta Braves on Sunday, inspired Thomson to say, “I think he is doing a better pitch as much as I have ever seen him. I really do it.”
Suarez made an eight career appearance (four start) against Cincinnati, with a 2–0 record with 2.17 ERA.
Reds Nick will node Lodolo (5-5, 3.52 ERA), who also has good career numbers against Saturday’s opponent. Lafti has started the first five times against Phillies, going 1-0 with 2.76 Era.
Lodolo is a Sunday matching up against San Diego Padress in which he scored a run in 5 1/3 innings. However, he did not have his best control (57 strikes and 38 balls), as he ran two batsmen and hit the other.
“I was not putting myself in great places again and again,” Lodolo said, “But I fought and put us there and we won the game.”
If Saturday’s competition is close to the end, Reds will definitely feel confident to hand over the ball to Emilio Pagan, who did ninth work for his 19th Save on Friday. This was the 11th scorer of the foot in his last 12 appearance.
Pagan requires another savings for a high match of her career set with Tampa Bay rays in 2019.
