Aurora, Natus Winsere and Team Liquid booked their spots in the PGL Walchia season 5 playoffs, with the playoffs with a group stage win in Bucharest, Romania on Tuesday.
The three teams improved 3–1 with round 3 wins, with a liquid rally with the loss of first matches to defeat the team’s tidebound, Navi defeated the Betbom team 2–1 and Arora Sweeping Tundra 2–0.
The group phase runs from Wednesday and a revised Swiss system features 16 teams. All matches are the best of three. Eight teams form playoffs, which are double elimination and begin on Thursday. All the playoff matches except on Sunday’s best-five Grand Finals are three of the three.
The award pool contributes $ 1 million, with the winner taking $ 350,000 home.
A day after a sweep at the hands of Gamin Gladiators, Arora raised a 35-minute win over Green with a 35-minute win and a 45-minute win against the Tundra Asports, which would face the Wilcard with a record of 2–2 in the next round.
The Navy opened with a 61 -minute win over Green, before Betbom responded with a 51 -minute win over Red. After this, Navi returned with a 33 -minute win over green. Betbom will face Tidebound on Wednesday.
Tidebound made a strong start with a 51 -minute win on the team liquid on the red before two 54 minutes of loss on green.
After winning on Tuesday, three other teams survived with 2–2 records: Veer Beat Edge 2–1, Wildcard Swept OG and Extreme Gaming swapped Nigma Galaxy.
