Peat Alonso lifts the mates on the pirate with a walk-off bag fly

Pete Alonso turned the walk-off sacrifice fly on Monday night for New York Mets, leading to Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 in a three-game series opener.

David Bednar (0-4) hit Luisangel Ekuna to open the ninth before the routine grounder of Francisco Lindor, leaving under the glove of the shortstop Isiah Kinar-Falafa behind the second base. Lindor went to third place when Soto sang for the right-center on the next pitch and scored deeply on the fly of Alonso.

Walk-off win was the fourth of the season for Mates. Alonso collected the eighth walk-off of his career RBI.

Huascar Brazoban (2–0) won despite blowing the sev in the ninth, the Pirates tied the score through a single, an error by Lindor and a distribution before K’Brian Hayes had a game-tied RBI Infield single.

Jeff McNell doubled the RBI in the fourth for Mates, who won five out of seven. Juan Soto tied the game with a run-scoring groundout in the seventh, before a batter, Ekuna scored from another on Alonso’s Infield single.

Lindor and Mark Vietos made two hits for Mets.

Kiner-Falefa moved to second place for the pirates, which fell 2–2 under the new manager Don Kelly. Pittsburgh took a short -term lead when Brian Reynolds overtook the back of a possible double play ball in the seventh.

Hayes and Kenner-Palefa had two hits.

Mets Left-Hander David Peterson conceded two runs on five hits and attacked seven with more than six innings innings while walking three. Pietersen, who finished seventh for the first time this year, went out after releasing the leadoff walk for Jredday Tricolo.

Pirates Starter Paul Sciences allowed a run on six hits and three walks, while six innings exited six innings. He had only 1-2-3 frames, but Met’s implicated six runners against the right hand.
