Pat Cummins scripted history on Thursday, June 12, becoming the first captain in the history of the sport to pick up a five-wicket haul in an International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament final. Cummins achieved the feat when he rattled the South African batting unit on Day 2 of the World Test Championship 2025 final at Lord’s, London.
Cummins, who is bidding to become the first captain to retain the ICC Test Championship mace in the WTC era, ran through the South African batting unit on Thursday, leading Australia’s fightback after they were bundled out for 212 in the first innings.
