Pakistan’s Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualification is an issue for India and BCCI. here’s why

Pakistan on Thursday booked its place in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The team managed to seal a place for itself after a wide 67 -run win over Thailand at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Pakistan has now won all its four matches in the qualifying tournament, entering the final round with an ideal record. She became the first team to qualify with a six-nation qualifier, including Bangladesh, West Indies, Ireland, Scotland and Thailand. In particular, the top-two finishing teams of the event have been scheduled to earn tickets for the Cricket World Cup to be held in India in September-November.

However, Pakistan’s qualifications have increased logistic challenges for India (BCCI) and the control board for cricket in the nation.

As the Women’s World Cup is to be hosted by India this year, Pakistan’s participation means that the BCCI will have to host Pakistan’s matches outside the “neutral site”. Not only for the Indian Board, but also for Indian fans because India vs Pakistan Match (Match) will be held outside the host nation.

In particular, this neutral site agreement was reached among nations after India after not visiting Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy held in February-March this year.

Pakistan was not happy with India’s decision, but the International Cricket Council (ICC) managed to make both parties in accordance with a balanced decision last year. The board confirmed that by 2027, matches between India and Pakistan will be played at neutral locations in ICC incidents.

ICC’s Mains Champions Trophy 2025 (hosted by Pakistan), as well as upcoming programs – ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 (host by India) and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (India and host by Sri Lanka).

It was also announced that PCB was awarded hosting rights for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028, where the system of neutral site would also apply.

Since the Indian men’s cricket team refused to visit Pakistan during the 2025 men’s Champions Trophy. He played all his matches at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Thus the teams who had India vs India had to travel between Pakistan and Dubai, something that will need to do the teams facing Pakistan during the Women’s Cricket World Cup.

This also enhances management issues for BCCI as the tournament will not be completely in India and they will have to arrange a neutral spot for matches that include Pakistan team.

According to Espncricinfo, Maharaja Yadvindra Singh International Stadium in Mulanpur is set to host the final match of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Raipur and Indore are other venue.

It is to be noted that if Pakistan qualifies for the semi -finals and finals of the event, then the related matches will also have to be taken out of India.
