After the Pahalgam terror attack, 26 civilians died on 22 April, the reactions have been stronger than all quarters. Terrorists of a Lashkar-e-Tabiba offshoot set fire to a group of tourists in Pahalgam’s scenic grasslands without tourist, resulting in one of the worst face-offs with Pakistan. The effect of the incident is also being felt on the cricket field.

There has been speculation that the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) may write the ICC, so that India and Pakistan have not been club in the same group in future global events (such as World Cup and Champions Trophy). However, a report in Cricbuzz competed the claim.

This year no major male ICC event is scheduled. The 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup will be played in India in September-October. Pakistan has qualified for the mega event and as per earlier agreements, it will play its game at a neutral site. In the middle of this, the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team opener Gul Feroza, who was part of the side played in the ICC Women’s World Cup qualifier, made a shocking comment.

He said, “We know that we will play under Asian conditions and we are not playing in India. It is clear. Nor we are interested in playing in India,” he told a Pakpassian.

“So, wherever it is played – hopefully in Sri Lanka or Dubai – the conditions you get in Asia. The qualifier was at home, and the employees prepare the track accordingly. Wherever World Cup games are played, we will have the same at home. So, we will be ready according to it, and we are ready for it, and we are ready for it.”

The BCCI has also made it clear that they will follow the government’s guidelines about playing cricket with India. “We are with the victims and we condemn it. Whatever our government will say. We will not play with Pakistan in the bilateral series due to the government’s standing. And we will not play with Pakistan in bilateral.
