Padress goes to sweep against struggling pirates

San Diego Padress has accommodated its rotation and tabped the right-handed Stephen Colec to start its first major league on Sunday, when they attempt to sweep a three-game chain against host Pittsburgh Pirates.

Colec, who will start his 2025 season, will oppose Pirates Lafti Andrew Heney (2-2, 2.50 ERA), as San Diego aims to win his fifth consecutive game and defeated Pittsburg for the ninth consecutive time in the last season. Pirates have lost three consecutive and six of their last seven matches.

Kolek’s turn allowed the padress, which moved to a four-man rotation a week ago for a pair of last week’s days, to shift back to five starters and save their top arms for an upcoming series against New York Yanki next week.

Kolek Nick will pitch in the turn of Pivata as it will later open a series against Yennaks in New York on Monday. Each Padress Starter is able to pitch the comfort once a comfort once for the starting season schedule of San Diego, which included six consecutive Thursdays.

“We are really deliberately about days,” said Padress Manager Mike Shield on Saturday. “This is the task of balance to ensure that we are competing, which we are clearly, and ensuring that we recognize that it is a long year for all people.”
