Padraig Harrington won the second US Senior Open in four years

Padrag Harrington of Ireland placed four front-nine beadies in a stable back-nine play on Sunday, resulting in Colorado Springs, a-shot win at the US Senior Open at the Broadmore Golf Club in Kolo.
Harrington fired 3-under-Burbar 67 to assure a single-stroke victory at 11-under 269 at the runner-up stewart sink.
“It was entertaining, isn’t it?” Harrington asked the rhetoric after the victory.
This was his first win in the PGA Tour Champion in 2025 after finishing second in the Senior PGA Championship in May. The event was the second win of Harrington in four years, however, after winning the first in 2022.
He credited his comfort level on the course to help him reinforce late.
“Here I am comfortable,” said Harrington. “Look, here I am not thinking that I am going to remember the cut. I am not thinking about it. I am thinking about the cut line if you bring me to a regular program on Thursday afternoon.
“While here I am wondering how to take myself to a position. And even the first few days I was going away from the field. I dropped a couple (shots) back. I was still going. I want I to give myself a chance and at that time to be with nine holes to stay in the right headspace.”
The sink, which came in the day, tied with the leaderboard with Harrington and Australian Mark Hansbie, led by eight holes directly over 2–5 directly four holes on the strength of four shovels. But Harrington’s Bird on Par-5, 530-yard ninth pulled her back into a tie.
Harrington had a bogie at number 10, which was a shirt on number 11, and then equal to every hole of the rest.
Conversely, the sink had two bad holes – 11th and 15th – and just one Birdi (14th) to give compensation, left him a shot shy that needed to force him to a playoff.
He cited two missed put opportunities in the 16th and 17th place.
“They are two puts where the green break is going against the mountain,” Sink said. “There is not much on this course that goes against that mountain. You have to decide which one is going to win. You can feel it in your feet and you can see where the mountain is and you know where the valley is.
“It types what you get here, and it is disappointing because I really hit good iron shots so that myself can be placed in position to get up there and Harrington was forced to finish a heroic finish than just pars.
Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimnez made a tremendous allegation and came below 10, tied in the final hole with the sink. But despite the shooting of 6-under 64 a day, he bogged No.18 to finish third in the under 9.
“If I had a chance to go in green, I would go for him.” Jimnez said about the shooting of 5 on Para -4 18th. “But as I was talking with my caddy, ‘Okay, maybe you can pass the water, but we can’t do anything from there. Is it worth the risk?” Then I still need to go, but that is right.
“I am high left, more or less, high pin and missed it, but at least give myself a chance to make myself 4. But if I put it in water, then bye-bye.”
Meanwhile, Hansbi shot 3-over 73 to fall into a tie in fourth place with Thomas Byorn (72) of Denmark.
