Packers Sign Stop Canadian QB Taylor Elgarsma

Elgarsma, who won the Canadian version of the Hissman Trophy last year, participated in a triedout during a crook Minicamp earlier this month.
Packers had an open space on the roster, so there was no transaction. The conditions were not issued by the team or Elgarsma agent, Craig Shefer.
Packers’ coach Matt Laughter told reporters earlier this month, “We have got a very living hand. We can see on the tape.” “He clearly played in the Senior Bowl and (passing-game coordinator Jason) found Varable to see him.”
The 23-year-old Algersma played college football at Wilfrid Lawrier in Ontario from 2020–24. He earned a 2024 HEC Criton Trophy, presented to the most outstanding Canadian football player.
After the season, the 6-Foot-4, 216-Pound Elgarsma became the first Canadian quarterback invited to the senior bowl.
Elgarsma was taken in the second round (overall) in the 2025 Canadian Football League draft by Vinnipag Blue Bombers.
In addition to the Starter Jordan Love, the packers also have quarterback scenes Clifford and Malik Willis on the roster.
