Just a few days after DC’s campaign ended in the IPL 2025, batter Ashutosh Sharma signed up to play for Wigan Cricket Club in England, in the 2025 Liverpool and District Cricket Competition; a tournament part of the ECB Premier League structure. And in his very first match against Formby CC, he went to score a ton, as per Wisden.

Batting at No. 5, Ashutosh Sharma reached his 100 in only 70 deliveries, at a time when Wigan were reduced to 17/3 in 9.5 overs. His innings included eight fours and six sixes, and also added 153 runs with Aveen Dalugod. That just goes on to show, that the MP lad only continued his rich IPL form into the league in England.

At the IPL 2025, he had gone on to score 204 runs at an average of 29 and at a strike-rate of 160. Back in March, vs LSG, he had stunned all when his 66 from just 31 deliveries won the match for DC, that too in the last over. Coming back to his List A credentials, he has played 14 matches till now, where he has 297 runs at an average of 22.
This effort led DC mentor to comment on X: “Ashutosh arrives in UK today and guess what…? He scores a hundred same day!
Some guy!”
He first made his presence felt in IPL 2024, for PBKS, where he played a few crucial knocks lower down the order with Shashank Singh and also scored a fifty, and 189 runs in all. Later in IPL Auction 2025, he was bagged for 3.80 Cr by DC.
