The Ottawa charge on Saturday signed the Norwegian defender Emma Bargsen for the 2025-26 PWHL season.

25-year-old Bergsen played his collegiate hockey in Canada at Mount Royal University in Calgary since 2019-24.

Bergsen said in a news release, “I had a difficult time to calm since receiving this contract to play in PWHL.” “It was a big goal for me to play in this league after it started.”

He launched his Pro Career with SDE HF of Sweden in 2024–25 and scored 19 points in 33 matches.

“Emma is a young defender that our group thinks is a good reverse,” said the charge general manager Mike Hirsfeld. “He is a pak-moving defender with a strong aggressive instinct. His hockey spirit and his vision is excellent. We really like his ability.”

Bergsen is the first Norwegian to sign a PWHL team.
