Who opens to Australia?
Usman Khwaja is the only stable at the top of the order, Australia trying four separate openers in the last 12 tests. Sam Contas made headlines against India, but was dropped in favor of Travis Head. He has sometimes batted at the top of the order, but enjoyed regular success in number 5. The left -handed batsman broke a brilliant 163 in the World Test Championship final against India at the Oval in 2023.
