A few days after playing a quickfire half -century against Punjab Kings (PBK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Tim David has expressed a desire to bat high. David’s 25-ball 50 helped RCB post a total of 95 on the board after a shameful collapse, which lost seven wickets for just 42 runs. RCB eventually despite losing the match, David’s knock earned him pladits and also argued whether the order should be allowed to bat high. Next to his double-header’s second match against PBK on Sunday, David responded to a cheek after being asked about his batting order.
“Ideally, walking at 250/0 in the 15th over would be great,” David jokingly said.
“But we got a great batting lineup. I enjoy watching them batting and tries to what I do when I give a chance. When I want to do what I want to do, I try to do it best.”
David also revealed that he was working hard on his batting and helped him perform well whenever he got a chance this season.
“Looks like I am batting well, working on luggage and doing this. I pressurize the opposition. If we bat well, I don’t need,” he said.
After his knock vs. PBK, veteran India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara praised David. “It seemed that she was aware that the bowlers were going to bowl, and she had a clear game plan – what kind of shots she wanted to play on that pitch. When you have clarity, it becomes easy. But yes, he used the opportunity in his favor and I am sure that her confidence would be promoted.” Cheteshwar Pujara said, as quoted by Espncricinfo.
Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu was also influenced by Tim David’s performance, highlighting his ability to support a brilliant knock under pressure. He praised his pacing of the innings and admitted that a better partnership could result in another high score.
“He played a great knock under pressure, he took his time. He kept the innings so beautifully. If he had to partner with someone, it would have been 120 or 130 for RCB. But some amazing batting.” Ambati Rayudu said.
