On IPL 2025 playoff expectations, CSK coach Stephen Fleming’s big entry: “Run out of time …”

Chennai’s Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming on Saturday admitted that the five -time winners are “hanging by Thread” and said that the team would not hesitate to bring forward the experienced players in the second half of the IPL if the next two match is not according to the plans. CSK, who is ranked 10th with only two wins in seven matches, has always chased strategies around experienced players, usually keeping Greenhorn on the bench until they mature enough to walk in the team.
“This is not a delicate phase? We are still in the competition, but we are hanging from thread, trying to find an balance between people giving some form to show some form,” Want to get the results, “Fleming told the media on the eve of the CSK match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhed Stadium.
“Unfortunately, in the situation in which we find ourselves, we are out of time to be very patient. On the other hand, we do not want to keep chopping and changing, trying to find magic formulas, possibly our tournament is still.
He said, “We have got an eye on the season, but we have also come to know that we are developing players for the future and this can be the second part of the season, if it does not go well to the next couple’s games,” he said.
Without taking a specific name, which would like to try out CSK, Fleming said that the current position of the team brings all the players into the squad.
He said, “Our results till date have brought all the members of the squad into the game. It is our tradition in the past that they want to live with more experienced players and they have given us the results that we were later,” he said.
“But when you do not get the results you are looking for, all squad members and philosophy are tested and of course, you have seen the use of more players other than the players, that this year we will use more players in the squad this year that we have done earlier,” he said.
He said, “We are still focusing a lot when it is a part of this tournament. It is going to do something, but it is the determination within CSK that we have found there earlier,” he said.
However, Fleming indicated some players, which may be the next group of CSK’s main basis.
“We have found something, in fact. (Ramakrishna) Ghosh is one. He is an all -rounder. I think he has got a good future. Ayush (Mahtre) has just joined us. He was impressive in tests, but he is really young in terms of experience,” he said.
“Sheikh Rashid has been with us for a while. There are many other people who have played a lot. They are all good players, and this is just the place where they will fit at the moment.
Fleming said that CSK has some good pacers which are also in their barn.
“Perhaps batting is its weakest side, so batting is being focused. But we have got a good crop of seam bowlers who are doing well. We have seen Mukesh Chaudhary.” He said, “(Ansul) Kamboj has now found that place. We are actually really happy with the squad. It’s just how we are performing and where we can get out of it,” he said.
Fleming said that CSK expects more than opener Rachin Ravindra despite Kiwi player being the highest run-goldter this season.
“Rachin has been good, he has been very pleasant on the eye (but) We just need a little more and he knows about it,” he said.
“I felt that he was very good in the previous game, which he is doing and was very accurate in the first game, very smart when we won against Mumbai. It is all there (but) it just needs a little more.
He said, “This is middle to be fair. If we are going to stay in this competition and are getting better, we need excellent.”
