Giroud is expected to match a good farewell match with LAFC (7-4-5, 26 points), which has not been played at MLS since stopping the Sports Canasus City on 8 June. LAFC has spent the last three weeks playing in the Club World Cup, going 0–2–1 and the groups are ending in the stage.

Meanwhile, Vancouver (10–3–5, 35 points) fell on Wednesday night with a domestic loss of 5–3 for the expansion of San Diego at the Western Conference Standing, which landed at a point in the standing. Whitakaps has faced continuous loss for the first time this year.
