Both visiting New York City FC and Atlanta United shook any war with a two -week break when they met the clubs in an East conference match on Thursday.
New York (7-6-4, 25 digits) was last played on 31 May, posted a 2–2 draw at Nashville SC. The club has performed well at home, winning six of its nine (6-3-0) games in Yanki Stadium or City Field. However, New York will be without goalkeeper Matt Fraz, who is playing with the US National Team in SONCACAC Gold Cup.

Atlanta (4-8-5, 17 points) will also suit for the first time after the last day of May, when it fell 2–0 against the New York Red Bulls. The shock broke the first two-game winning line of Atlanta’s season as the team found itself in a familiar place-suffering from its seventh shutout of 2025.
On Thursday, there will be a homecoming for Atlanta head coach Ronnie Dela, who set a record of 46–29-15 as NYC FC leader from 2020-22 and won the MLS Cup with a franchise in 2021.

Emmanuel Latte leads Atlanta with five goals in the Lath season, while Miguel Almaron and Jamal Thiere follow with three episi.
