Number 3 Carlos Alakraj says that he is healthy, ready for Rome

Spain’s World No. 3 Carlos Alakraj announced on Thursday that he is fit and is ready to play after Madrid’s open disappearance due to Madrid injury.
The third seed is facing Serbian qualifier Duson Lajovic in the second round of International BNL D’Talia in Rome on Friday.
“I am really happy to come here in Rome,” said Alakraj. “This is the second time I am going to play here, so I am excited. The practices were very good so far. I am in good condition. I am 100 percent ready to start the tournament. So I can’t wait tomorrow.”
Alkaraj withdrew from the Madrid Open on 24 April, classified as a perfect adctor muscle tension to the ATP tour. He maintained hamstrings and waist injuries during the second set of Barcelona Open final on 20 April, losing to the sixth seed Holger Run.
Rome Tournament, one of the three ATP Masters 1000 events on Clay, is a precursor for the French Open starting from May 25. Alakraj recalled Rome in 2024 due to injury.
Alakraj, which is 24–5 with two titles this season, said that he had to “stop a bit” to overcome his injury, but he was “not worried at all.”
“So now, yes, I believe,” Alakraj said, who turned 22 years old on Monday. “The practices are well. Just excited to start the tournament. Obviously, I would say that the first round in every tournament is never easy; you have to get used to conditions, tournaments, courts, everything.”
