Two teams entering two unbeaten teams on Saturday in the Overwatch Champions Series North America Stage 2 ended the day in the same way as NTMR and Geekay Esports remained each perfect – barely.
NTMR, 4–0 to start the day, led to another dominant performance, won 2–0 over Busan Control and 3–1 at Survasa flashpoint to open the match. But extinct, entering 1-2 weekends, replied with a 4–3 win at Watchpoint: Gibraltar escort and a 93.95 m to 21.93 meters of winning also pushed to the match at the match. NTMR harassed the Kings Roebrid 3–2 in the decisive map.
One match earlier, 3–0 Geke faced the team liquid, which could win the team’s record with a 3–1 win. Liquid jumped with an initial lead with a 2–1 win over Ilyos control, but Geke replied with a 1–0 win on the Circuit Royal Escort. Liquid took another lead with a win from 85.29 meters from 85.29 meters to 81.45 meters, but again Gekes responded with a 3–2 win over Kings Ro Hybrid. The final map was equally close to New Junk City Flashpoint, with Geek win 3–2.
In the first match of the day, Sakura Asports defeated Supernova 3–1, won 2–0 over Illios Control and won the runSapi 3–1 at New Junk City Flashpoint before leaving from 106.66 meters to 104.52 meters. But Sakura removed the match with a 3–2 win over Kings Roebrid.
Tournament, played online, eight teams are included. The regular-season round robin will end on 15 June, with six qualifying teams to go to the double-elimination regional playoffs.
The top three teams will move forward in the Middarson Championship and North America Stage 3. The prize money has not been fixed yet.
