Notre Dame hops alumni Pat Garti as Hops GM

Notre Dame hired alumni Pat Garti on Tuesday as General Manager of Fighting Irish men and women’s basketball teams.

The dual GM role is new in the Notre Dame and is believed to have only another role – both men and women play the game – in college athletics. Baker Dunlvi has placed a similar position in 2023 for the basketball programs of Wilnova.

The 48 -year -old Garti will also see men’s basketball as their primary sports administrator.

Garty graduated in 1998 and drafts in the first round (19th composite) by Milwauki Bux that year. He still ranks fifth in the history of Notre Dame School with 2,085 career points.

The 6-Foot-9 forward spent 10 seasons in NBA with Phoenix Sun (1998–99) and Orlando Magic (1999–2008) and 7.3 points in 552 games and 2.6 rebound average (107 start).

He was the Assistant General Manager of Detroit Piston since 2016-20.
