There is a lot of debate and discussion around the selection for Team India squad for the five-observance series against England in June. After the retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, two important positions have been revealed in the top order along with the captain’s place. In particular, filling Virat Kohli’s shoes at number 4 is a major problem to solve India. While Shubman Gill and KL Rahul have been postponed as potential candidates, former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar has thrown a different name in the cap.
Bangar said, “I am thinking about Karun Nair.
Karun Nair has enjoyed the Renaissance in domestic cricket in the 2024/25 season. Karun’s Vidarbha reached the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and won the Ranji Trophy, in which Karun enjoyed a rich run.
The 33 -year -old, which is the only Indian besides Virender Sehwag to score a triple century in Test cricket, has forced himself to bring himself back into selection conversations for his form. Creating his first presence in IPL 2025, Karun Nair broke an amazing 89 off just 40 balls for Delhi Capital (DC).
Bangar also batted to include another domestic cricket stalwart in the form of Abhimanyu Ezavaran of Bengal.
Bangar said, “What happens to Abhimanyu Ezavaran? He has scored a lot of runs. I believe he will make it in Test Squad.”
Egievaran thwarted India’s XI to play for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after a poor performance in a match in India. However, he could get another shot, which was named India’s captain for the warm-up matches against Lions of England.
