No Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill or Rishabh Pant: East-Chief selector name amazing test captaincy

Announcing his new Test captain, unveiling the squad for England’s important five-match tour, ahead of India, wicketkeeper-son Saba Karim has supported Shubman Gill for the role of leadership. On the other hand, former chief selector Kiran More said that he would like to be KL Rahul to be the new Test captain of the side. Ever since Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from tests earlier this month, Gill has been seen as a front-raner for a full-time leadership role. Rahul has captained India in the first three tests, and has recently been seen as a certainty in the long format plan of things.
Other candidates for the role of Test captaincy are rapidly boulel Spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who led India in the first three matches and wicketkeeper-boss Rishabh Pant. But Bumrah is not a certainty to play all five tests on England tour, while pants may be in the race for the role of the vice-captain, despite having a great foreign batting record.
“You have Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant. Given that it is the beginning of a new WTC cycle, I will go with a young, talented leader -Shabman Gill. Although he wants to install himself completely at the test level, I would like to take a bold step to the selectors.”
“We have seen his leadership skills in the small format with GT, and it seems to be in a very happy place when he is leading. It should be well bent for India,” said Karim, a former national selector, said, Blues – Blues – The selectors followed the episode on Geohotstar.
Meanwhile, banking on experience on youth cited his priority for Rahul. Rahul is also expected to bat with Yashasvi Jaiswal, especially after making a successful pair on a tour of Australia.
“I will go with KL Rahul – he is an experienced pracharak. I don’t want to put a lot of pressure on Shubman Gill. He has not done enough in Test cricket yet. He has not played too much domestic cricket, so a long format has to be done in the format.”
He said, “Let him grow-maybe he can be the vice-captain for a one or two years. For now, KL Rahul is the right choice. He needs to lead the experience, nature and communication skills,” he said.
