Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) celebrations didn’t go as planned. A stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium turned the cheery occasion into a nightmare. Before all of this, Virat Kohli had penned a heartfelt note to fans, confirming that he would be announcing his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shreyas Iyer gave his Punjab Kings (PBKS) fans hope. Gus Atinkson might be ruled out of the India vs England 1st Test. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shifted a Test match from Delhi.

RCB celebrations end in stampede
What was going to happen to be a day of celebrations in Bengaluru has turned into a tragedy. Fans flocked in large numbers to celebrate RCB’s maiden IPL title run. But things took a turn for the worse as a stampede happened outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In the aftermath, RCB has posted a statement and the Karnataka CM has announced compensation for those who have lost their lives.

Kohli, not retiring from IPL
Since Kohli retired right after winning his maiden T20 World Cup in 2024, many feared the same would happen if RCB won the IPL 2025 trophy. Well, fortunately for them, Kohli isn’t retiring from the IPL. After beating PBKS, Kohli said, “This is the team I’m going to play for till the last day that I play the IPL.”

Shreyas Iyer vows for solid PBKS comeback
PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer was naturally distraught after his team couldn’t lift the IPL 2025 trophy on Tuesday night. Having ended the group stage at the top, PBKS lost two of the next three matches and finished second. But “this isn’t the end,” said Shreyas, and claimed that “we’ll be back.”

Kohli pens emotional note
A few hours after winning his maiden IPL trophy with RCB, Kohli penned an emotional note. It was an ode to fans, who’ve been with him and the team through thick and thin.
