“No DJ or Cheerleaders” – Sunil Gavaskar’s advice to BCCI as IPL 2025 resumes “

Gavaskar wants BCCI to make some changes in the tension of India and Pakistan.

Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar has advised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to make a few changes to their policies as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 resumes on May 17. He wants the board to read the pulse of the nation in the aftermath of the India and Pakistan tensions and make a few changes.

Gavaskar wants ‘just cricket’ as IPL 2025 resumes

Gavaskar wants the crowd to flock in huge numbers to watch cricket as usual. But wants the BCCI to pay homage to the victims who lost their lives in Pahalgam and then the subsequent skirmish between India and Pakistan.

“I would sincerely hope, because of what has happened, some families have lost their near and dear ones. I would like all the paraphernalia that goes on with it not to be there,” Gavaskar said on Sports Today.

The former India captain suggests that no music be played at the remaining 17 matches. Gavaskar wants no DJs (disc jockeys) at the games, screaming on top of their lungs. And lastly, no cheerleaders. To honour those who were affected.

“Just the game to be played. Let the crowds come in, but let’s not have music. Let’s not have the DJs screaming in the middle of an over. None of that. Let’s just have sport, no dancing girls, nothing. Just cricket. That would be a really nice way to respect the sentiment of the families who have lost their near and dear ones,” he added.
