NCAA panel approves the challenges of coaches

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversite panel on Tuesday approved several proposals that are designed to improve the flow of men’s college basketball games.
Perhaps the most notable change is in addition to the challenges of coaches.
Coaches will now be able to challenge out-of-bounds calls, basket intervention/targeting and whether a secondary defender at any point in sports was in the restricted field.
Mirroring the rules of challenge in NBA, teams can only challenge when they have a timeout to request a review. When successful, they will make an additional replay challenge for the remaining game. Failure, and that team will not be able to challenge the rest of that competition.
Officials will still be able to start video reviews at the target and restricted field plays in the final two minutes of each game. However, the out-of-bounds reviews can now be started with the challenge of only one coach.
The rule panel also signed a change in the gusting dishonest rules around the plays, in which a player contacts the waist of a rival. While officials can only rule it on a general dishonesty or a flag in the previous season, the authorities will now be able to call a flagant foul 1.
Somewhere else, the NCAA stated that there is a “positive speed” to move from half to quarters for men’s game. However, the NCAA Basketball Committee has recommended the creation of a joint work group to detect such changes before making any changes.
