The citizens of Washington on Saturday placed the left-handed Andrew Chaffin with the right hamstring strain in the 15-day injured list.
This step is retrospective till Wednesday.
Chaffin, 34, registered a 3.18 ERA without a decision in 16 relief appearance with Washington this season.
Also on Saturday, citizens recalled Ryan Loutos from Triple-e Rochester right-handed Ryan Loutos. He was claimed from Wavers from Los Angeles Dojers and was given an option for Red Wings.
The 26-year-old Loutos posted 2.75 ERA with three separate triple-A teams recording 16 strikeouts in 19 2/3 innings.
He conceded five runs on four hits in three innings in two relief showcases with the doseers this season.
